Official PENNDOT On-Board-Diagnostics (OBD) Analyzer Bulletin
- June 2003.
Recently, PENNDOT announced details of the settlement resulting
from two lawsuits concerning emissions testing in 16 additional
counties. Also included in the announcement were the details
of the transition to OBD testing in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh
regions.
In light of this announcement, PENNDOT is stressing to existing
and potential emissions stations that no OBD equipment has
been certified. PENNDOT will provide each station with a list
of equipment providers that have successfully completed the
certification process.
PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANY OBD EQUIPMENT
UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE LIST OF CERTIFIED VENDORS FROM PENNDOT.
At this time, seven Equipment Providers have expressed an
interest in participating in the Pennsylvania OBD program
and will be submitting their equipment for certification.
For more information on the program please call the Station
Operator Hot Line at 1-888-265-5909.
